Welcome to Carleton Circle!

My name is Maxime Petrin. I am an educator (BSE in Special Education) and a published author, and I have a passion for creating engaging hands-on activities for kids!

I love to share LEGO ideas and activities, and many of them include building instructions.

Growing up, I was always fascinated by building things with my hands. Whether it was creating elaborate structures with blocks or constructing forts from blankets and pillows, I loved the process of designing and building something from scratch.

As I got older, my interest in hands-on activities only grew stronger. In high school, I became involved in my school’s robotics club and was amazed by the engineering challenges we were able to solve as a team. This experience inspired me to pursue a degree in Special Education, where I could combine my passion for building with my desire to help others.

During my time as a teacher, I quickly realized the importance of hands-on learning for engaging students and making concepts more concrete. I began incorporating LEGO bricks into my lessons and saw an immediate increase in student engagement and understanding.

Eventually, I decided to start a blog to share my ideas with a wider audience. Through my blog, I hope to inspire parents, educators, and kids to explore the endless possibilities of hands-on learning and to see the joy that can come from creating something with your own two hands.

You can find many STEM ideas (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) in my blog that are perfect for use at home, in the classroom, or at a STEM club or library maker space. I love coming up with engineering challenges that use simple and inexpensive materials.
